Your example is a good one. Airplanes have been known to crash into the sea for one reason or another. That's why the make part of your seat into a floatation device to help you keep stay afloat. But not knowing how to swin would make you look more like an easy meal to a shark that hear you splashing around helpless makes a good fast easy meal to them. Now knowing how to swin can help you seem less like an easy meal and they will check you out but will move on to get the ones that can't swin well. Just something to think about.

It is important to know how to swim, after all. In my town there was an accident. A pipe has broken and it made a hole on the street, full of water. It looked like an ordinary puddle but was 2 meters deep. One woman, who thought that it was just a shallow puddle fell in and almost drowned, because she didn't know how to swim.. Fortunately, she had a bike with her and somebody saved her. Who knew that swimming ability could be so useful in the city, far away from the nearest swimming pool?
