Ashamed I missed this, because this is great. I love the slightly muddy palette you've used, although that could be the hatched/block shading (<3 that style) that's making me think of that word in particular. It's that scratchy effect on his jacket, probably. His expression is so determined, like >[ lol death. Love that, too. Interesting shading technique on his glove, by the way. Do you draw a black area of shade with a vector tool and gradually remove it with a soft eraser? That's what I do when I'm trying to get soft shading, and the results look very similar.

Regarding the erasing technique, I dont use vectors however I do at times soften colors using various methods, one of which being the soft eraser methods. To be honest, I'm not at all satisfied with my digital colors, I think I'm pretty bad at it most times. X3

I'd say you've got a very solid colouring style, and the pencil shading you've got in there adds a very pleasant effect. With the shading on the gloves, you could have rounded out those points a little, and perhaps added some thin strokes to enhance the shading on the fur, but that's nitpicking. As it is, this is awesome, and I try not to use that word too often because it's practically lost all meaning. :[
