Remington "Remi" Avanti is the son of Fuego Ironworks' vice president, so many consider him to be the most logical choice to head up the newly formed, company-backed Team Fuego. Apparently Remi thought so too, since he left a top 10-ranked team to take the role of leader and seems to be having a blast with his new teammates, even though they're still learning the ins and outs of academy life.
Remi's personality is just as colorful as the paint that drips from his tail, and he's not shy about saying something silly to get a laugh from someone. His laid-back attitude carries right over into his leadership and fighting styles, a definite contrast (and as far as he's concerned, a welcome change) from the almost militaristic style of his former team.
One thing people learn immediately after a match with Remi is that you probably should wear old clothes next time you go up against him. Many of the moves he's picked up over the last couple of years use his tail as his primary attack, and since he's about 6' 4" that tail has quite a reach. He's currently trying to find someone that knows Transform so he can Sketch that move ( "It'll be a lot of fun to mess with opponents using that... 'Stop hitting yourself! Stop hitting yourself!'" )

Yaay smeargle! <3 I just love yours too; he has class and style! The fact he seems playful seem to reinforce the image of smeargle being a carefree, shameless specie. XD I should underline and highlight and put in bold the fact I really love your clothing choice on your characters. :3
I also like how there's a couple of smeargle in the PCA but they all have their own style and lots of difference just for the sketching-ability they have.

I always thought of Smeargles as being free spirited types, if only because they have that ingrained urge to splatter paint on whatever they can get away with. And considering who sponsors Team Fuego, giving the team work uniforms to wear seemed only natural... plus they are technically employees of the company going through a "career readiness program", sooo... :)
I know what you mean about the uniqueness of each Smeargle, too. It's a lot easier to decide exactly how they should be since you don't have to worry about whether their moveset matches their personality, heck that's what gave me the idea to give Remi so many tail-oriented moves. I just figured he'd think, "Okay, I have this long tail that's perpetually soaked in bright orange paint at the end... how many ways can I use it to my advantage?"
