On monday night, I sat down to play city of heroes.
Today, on thursday morning, I stopped.
During that time, I did absolutely nothing worthwhile, and I have nothing, absolutely nothing, to show for it. It the mean time, I could hear the socializing, laughter, and chatter from the living room, and only now, at 7:00 am when the house is completely silent, after an entire night of wasting my time in an MMO with complete strangers (if that), do I realize that I could've been laughing, chatting, and just having a good time with the people who -really- mattered...
Pictured are alpha female GMing, Den Mother actually taking a moment to worry about me, Paul rolling the dice, Taxi Fox (who isn't physically a taxi fox, just is a fox whom does teh taxistuff) holding his character sheet, and Alpha's Mate scheming with D6-in-paw.
These people mean more to me than any group of people I have ever known before.
And I just spent 72 hours ignoring them completely.
...
Sometimes, i really hate this laptop.

A very poignant idea which can be heard even without the context of your specific realization, though that only adds to 'shed the light,' as it is. Taking a moment to focus on the purely astethic aspect, I have to marvel at how well the picture is portrayed with mere lines; one can feel the emptiness masquerading as light to the left while it drowns out the life and love to the right. At the very least, it seems you've come away from the game with a brighter understanding and a beautiful picture. ^.^
