River is the odd(est) one out of the team. She is neither skilled in martial combat, nor gifted in luxcraft. She has never been through training, isn't particularly clever, nor especially brave, and is only 20 years old. She isn't tall, nor strong, nor agile, and on first inspection one would be forgiven for wondering why this petite young woman is in the company of a team of rangers.

On closer inspection, one would find that River is in fact quite unique, being both a cleric of the New Church of Light, and the only true healer that any of her companions have ever encountered. With need of neither herbs, ointments, salves nor potions, River is needs only her touch to mend even the gravest of injuries. Which is probably one reason why Alyssa, hotheaded and prone to unthinking fury and the ensuing wounds that result, is very happy to have her around.

This miraculous ability does come at a cost to her comrades however. While River will never hold back her skill from those who need them, she can be insufferably virtuous, preaching the ways of the New Church to her subjects even as she patches them back together. Alcohol, violence, anger and sex are top of her hit list - and everyone in the team enjoys at least three of these. Of course she in no way enjoys those humiliating moments when Alyssa's temper snaps, the lecture ends prematurely, and River winds up over her knee receiving a paddling. Not at all, never, no way would she enjoy those moments. Because she's a pure and chaste cleric and has in no way got a major crush on Alyssa that she spends most of her life repressing.
