I participated in NaNoWriMo this year ... and won!
55,000 words written in less than 30 days.
Anyway, this is "Skree", main character from my novel. Skree is of an amorphic species; with not a single bone in his body he is fluid and shapeless, and was taught how to hold himself together in this quasi-feline shape by his mother. As with all members of their species, in order to become a proper adult he must seek out a creature from a different species and fuse his body and mind to it, however he is deeply afraid of that process and this creates one of the central conflicts in the novel.
Does he eventually "grow up" and complete this rite of passage? And if so, what type of creature will he become?
Prismacolors on 8x5", took about 3 hours, plus a digital background.
