A commission from  carnival who wrote some beautiful words to go along with it:

In a dark world, light exists.
Sometimes in small corners, gathered in pockets by those who would seek its life giving accord, other times lost on great expanses of blackness so wide and deep they seem to swallow whole the efforts of the ever volatile star we call our sun.

Light.. Frail, calm and pure, traditionally shines unto us white, but this depiction is mere a cacophony of the vast and brilliant spectrum it holds, too rich for mortal comprehension in its raw form.
Refracted, light becomes an extraordinary symphony of colour, complex and emotional in degrees that change with every interpretation.
Light is a gift, so colour your own world.
Breathe deep of contentment, exhale passion and use the body you have to light the world and those around you.

This commission was inspired by the video clip for "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghb6eDopW8I ) with the idea of wandering through a dark world bringing light to it. Beyond that I largely left Carni to her own devices with the hope she'd let her vastly creative mind run free, and this was the result. I'm very happy with the outcome!

As a note about the markings, I thought it'd be interesting to experiment with tribal tattoo designs in this piece given the idea of wanting to appear colourful in contrast to the background. I loved Carni's design so much that a part of me is highly tempted to adopt them as a permanent part of my character. Massive kudos to Carni for tempting me to make the first massive change to Fala in nearly a decade!
