Here is the shot with me wearing the finished lion's tail. The belt is way up in the shirt.
Pants do not have a hole in them for it. I have other "prop" pants with holes (that might need to be enlarged, etc.) to use with it to add that "realistic" dimension. Ok, not that realistic!
I use a relatively stiff bailing wire but it's not very stiff so next time I'll find some piano wire (not sure where to get locally) and try with that sometime.
This will be the pattern for future similar tails (but without the tip piece if not a lion but another big cat).

I'm sorry you misunderstood. There is no hole in these pants, the other ones I have that I use as "props" have the hole for it. This was to show what the tail looked like outside of the pants. I left out showing that it is hanging down from a belt on my waist to show how it's worn. Should have taken the photo showing that part. Oh well!
