Oh I like this one! It appeals to the sometimes dark outlook I have on the holiday, sometimes. :) Anyway, I'm faving this. Thanks.

The dark outlook gets worse every year as they move christmas decorations back and back and start playing christmas music earlier and earlier. Eventually, it'll start at the end of January.

Glad it may lift your spirits a bit.

Unconscious influence, maybe, conscious reference? Not so much. Bill Watterson is a genius, so even being mentioned in the same sentence with him is an honor.

I wasn't taking offense, I was just clarifying that I didn't think of the Calvin and Hobbes gag until you mentioned it, but now that you did, I can see where the association would come from.

Yeah. I was going for more of a "mass appeal" thing. People tend to get squeamish with beheaded snowmen.
