I'm terrible at getting shit that I need to do done.
lol All my inanimate objects/ backgrounds look like vector art since I don't use contour lines. Should I change that? I feel it clashes with the characters and overall harmony.

bahaha, so awesome! It's way to fun to look at all the little details you put into your stuff, bud :D which im sure is equally fun to draw!
I think it looks spectacular as is. I wouldn't change a single bit of it! (Except maybe get the poor big bear a bigger desk, bahaha~)
I can only imagine him trying to draw on a little tablet or press only one key at a time w/ those huge hands =p

Ok, Its fine and all to ask people who like your work there opinions but believe me when i say you should take everything with a couple of heavy dashes of salt.
The great thing about being an artist is that your open to experimentation. You have a great style and your still developing. So do yourself a favor and try everything out. Take what you like from it and toss what you don't. But don't make it a habit of asking your fans what they think.
The problem with that is, everyone has there own opinion. So there going from what they think would work best and not everyone will agree with you on whats best. So you could end up going in a direction you don't like. But because you place alot of trust in what people say, you'll begin ignoring your own artistic sense.
The best advice you can get on this matter is, Trust your gut, you know what you like you just need the time and effort to find it and make it your own.
Your a good artist Kid, Trust yourself and your gut, and I promise you'll be happy with your art in the end.

Oh, I hope people tell me the flaws they see in my art. It's more helpful than compliments. (But compliments are freaking amazing, too. xD) Constructive criticism is always welcome. :)
I didn't really think of it as "asking my fans what they think". It's more "Asking other artists more experienced than myself 'how I can improve my work?" But You're right. I won't make a habit of it.
I understand. I'll make an effort to trust my gut more often. but I'm terribly unsure of myself and my abilities, so forgive me if I may sometimes act as such.
I do so very much appreciate your help, man. it really did help me a lot.

Well heres the thing, there are alot of really great artist here on FA, and the right ones are willing to help. You just gotta ask.
If you want those artist to help you out. Ask them, sure not all of them will respond or even be kind. But its also a good way to make friends with people you admire and get the help you want. *fuzzles*

I think it looks good.
Kind of like when in Dragon Ball they colored the rocks that were about to be destroyed next in a different way. You could always tell what would be destroyed or moved next. So in here it works well to tell which objects are static and which ones are not.

Still needing an opinion on contours? Going by the above image, you could soften the contrast of the linework by coloring the lines, or adding black contours to only select edges of the scenery as accents. Kinda like this image only not nearly as much black, or in places and edges that fall into shadows more. I use this styling in a current pixel-based project if you want more examples.
overall, i love your stuff. I grew up on cartoons where the character drawings didn't match the well painted backgrounds. It was just the way it was back then and the uniformity of today's standards can be an eyesore in western cartoons. Anime stuff still does it that way though. :D
