It might just be because I'm nuts, but I like the character because of two important things. The first being that she's a civvie who's doing her damndest in a bad situation. She's not a marine like the others, and doesn't have the psychological prop of confidence that the training gives you. She doesn't let that stop her. In fact, she doesn't let anything short of the reactor...well, spoilers. The point is that she's got guts. The second thing, and maybe less important, is that she's distinctive as a character, both visually and the way she acts. (See above) I'm not going to mention much about the pronz of her, but her fetish helped to establish her character, too.
