Good composition, though I have to say, the tree in the background looks like it's coming out of the guy's head. Might move the tree and see if it looks any better.

You're right! I didn't even consider that - I've changed the submission somewhat and the darker shadowing of the character separates it from the background a little more now.

I really like this scene for some reason. It kind of reminds me of the master sword forest... place... thing... something in the wii legend of zelda game - it has a temple-y feel to it.

Made sense to me!
I rarely do situational art these days, so having a "coherent" setting and event was a lot of fun - especially since much of it is up for interpretation.
