I have not played Halo 3 yet, but in CTF multiplayer on Halo 2 I normally am chosen to get the flag since I get the lowest amount of kill the good players cover me on the way back to the base.
But in death matches I am cannon fodder used to find were the enemy is hiding, when they find out how I died.
