This is a piece I did for the RAW Art Show I did in September 2012. Its one of the most elaborate pieces I have done...EVER.
The horse's armor is multiple versions of my old reliable, the Horizontal Dream Catcher weave/stitch with triangle seed beads at each loop. The armor is backed in leather. The piece in the center of the horse's collar is a pearl. The horn on its headpiece is all wire. The saddle has a pearl on it and a purple agate round bead held in four copper "claws" as a pommel. And yes, the tail is real horse hair from a round of grooming my friend's horses...why let perfectly good materials go to waste.
The rider is wearing all leather with a Horizontal Dream Catcher weave/stitch mesh overlay creating a very cool looking shirt. The rider's stick is relatively light gauge (18 or 20, I can't remember which) steel wire with red wire ornament. The top of the staff is wrapped in 28 gauge red plastic coated copper wire with a crystal suspended in the center. The rider's cloak is leather with fabric lining and a horse embroidered in wire on it.
The figures are wire core with fabric skin. The armor is wire and beads on a leather backing. The riders staff is wire and beads. The horse's tail is a mix of Frisian tail hair and Arabian mane hair. The horse's hooves are made of paper coated in Superglue.
