im sorry for bothering, but do you have to pay to use SL or is all the stuff free and in game? Also how exactly does it work?

SL itself is free, but the in-game currency is not. Honestly, I don't find the currency that expensive though.

It's kind of like IMVU if you've ever used that.
It's just a bit more ... free roaming?
It's kind of like a huge virtual chat world. not just for people who like to build things.

i think i tried to use that imvu thing, got about 4 trojans and a rootkit from it.

SL is a secure site, shouldnt have anything bad in it.
IMVU on the other hand is filled with spam and randoms ads everywhere
