Yeah, King Sombra's hot XD (dat fang-licking). Tis a shame he was made all forgettable and not characterized past evil. And all blown to pieces (Family Unfriendly Death indeed).
BUT, his horn was emphasized when he was obliterated, and earlier in that same ep, when a portion was sliced off, that provided some leverage for him to spread and corrupt in its small area within Cadance's force field >:3

Yeah, allegedly from one of the crew, the reaction to his design was so negative, and most of the ep work already done, they decided to write him as hollow and forgettable. IMO, they REALLY dunno their fanbase XD
