So this took forever like ughhh I wanted to go outside my comfort zone in lines and shading and for the lines I can tell but the shadding UGH /sobs Anyway!
I commissioned Ali for a sketch and she said we could finish
them if we like and so I figured I'd try ;u; my lines do not do the sketch justice at all. ;A; ummmm helpful comments are welcoming on the shading only // and lines //danke

awww cutie patootie <3 glad you finished it! it looks lovely~
my only advice shading wise would be play with how dark you can shade the tail since his body is over it, but i still like it regardless :3 just mess around and have fun, i'm unsure of what programs you use but i would suggest taking advantage of the layer options, mess around with them and see what you can do!

and wow I didn't even think about that OTL wow I was going to make more highlights for the fur but it ended up looking really sloppy so I'm going to have to play with that some time ;; as for programs I use Paint Tool Sai and photoshop / for touch ups and effects . w . I shall I try adding more shading layers next time and see how that flows // thank you so much uAu for some reason lately shadings been iffy

i also suggest maybe finding gradient packs to download because those really help with lighting for me and it'd be worth a try perhaps! i know of some 'vintage' ones that can really make an image pop too. like do an entire gradient over the image but erase what isn't the character 8) making your own gradients is also great~
