There's a character from the Queens Blade named Cattleya... She's a mother who was once an adventurer, but settled down and opened up a weapon shop with her husband. One day her husband disappears, so she fights to find him (with her shota-bait son in tow), using both a humongous sword called the Giant Killer and a spear called the Almighty Javelin. I like the concept and outfit she wears, but not the actual artwork of her. I don't know, I just find it un-good. I actually messed up a lot of the details of the outfit, but oh well. Also I don't have a straight-edge so the javelin pole looks fucked. =( And I didn't really do anything interesting otherwise... Aaaaah, enough negativity from me!!
This would be the Char-style "Scorching Red" color scheme for Cattleya. I found it while looking for pictures of her--apparently they're putting out resin-cast figures of her with her normal color scheme and the Giant Killer sword, and this one with the javelin as a limited edition figure, both coming out in February '08.
This is incidentally the first picture I've done with actual marker paper. I didn't believe it was bleed-proof until I actually used it because it was so thin. I felt like it would fall apart in my hands D:
Apropos of nothing, I'm thinking of writing my name in hiragana from now on. It lends itself better to a calligraphy/brush-tip pen or marker.

very very preety! I sense a slight style change and it's neat :o the coloring is great of course, you got down the use of blacks perfectly, the shading came out wonderful and the details like the hair and the armor are wonderful, the shines really bring them alive, great work!
also, she's looking real hot, killer body and beautiful expression, wonderfully done! every little detail brings up the piece lots :3

Style change! I'm actually not sure about that, maybe because I can't tell on my own.
One thing I *have* been doing differently is eliminating one of the shades I use in her hair. I think it makes it look brighter, combined with the fact that the copic paper does a better job of capturing the proper brightness of copic ink compared to what I've been using... So the hydrangea blue I use through most of her hair is a good bit more vibrant.
