First of all I want to give some credit for this figurine to
ShadowFoxLizzie (without her character Nish (in anthropomorphic form) I'd never have tried or even found out about layered hair :). It's simple to form out of clay yet it really adds a lot of volume to the hair (always had problems doing that before).
So, this figurine got finished just in time for the birthday of a family member (and it also commemorates the first cake I made (other than tiramisu, ring cake and one brownie that didn't really turn out as a brownie but still tasted pretty good^^)).
As promised I've also put a ruler (in centimeters; 1 inch = 2.54 cm) and one Euro next to it to give some sense of scale :)
At the bottom of the picture I've put in the three tools I use the most for working with clay (a scalpel (by now already quite dull), the tweezers of a Swiss Army Knife and a sowing needle).
