cats and dogs are the worst when they die... you have had them for so many years they become a little brother or sister, and it hurts so much when they die, i'm not looking forward to when my dog dies... i'v had her since i was young, i remember falling asleep by her side one night, and she stayed there all night until the morning.
i think my dad took the worst of it.
as i grew up he always taught me that crying was a sign of weakness, that your not a man if you cry, he was real macho, he weight trains and beats the crap out of anyone who pisses him off... and this little rat died... and he cried. i'v never seen him cry.

my dad was the one who would care for him, i had college and had a lot of person trouble happening, so he took on ratty and cared for him, he's always been bad at connecting with humans but with animals it's like he doesn't have to try, every animal i have seen just loves him instantly, but with people you need to have a certain image and mind set, animals will love anyone who is kind to them.
