Sal, this comic is beautiful. There's such a surplus, an overabundance of naughty comics out there... and we all love it, but, it's so refreshing to see something emotional for a change that isn't also sixty percent erotica. This is already making me both, melancholy in some ways, but happy in others.

This just shows how much of a child you are. A "real man" wouldn't go around bashing another's work. If he finds something to be shallow or cliche, he just doesn't read it. Your final comment just shows that you're attempting to pick a fight with someone who doesn't even know (or care, for that matter) that you exist, and the fact that you've set up an account for the sole purpose of pointing out flaws simply says that you're incredibly immature, too much so to be pointing out the flaws of others.
Furthermore, if you read anything in the Q&A that he posted, you'd find that the first six pages were essentially a stream of consciousness block of drawing to the song Kiss the Rain, and Sal didn't have a specific plot in mind until they were finished. I'm sorry you're disappointed in the comic, but let's be clear. He's not writing it for you or anyone else. He's writing it for himself and posting it on his page because he can.
Grow up, and it'd be wise to think about your actions before doing them. It'd probably save you a lot of embarrassment later. Just saying.

The sad truth of this matter is that this particular individual is particularly annoyed that smut is not becoming available. Indeed, Sal is doing this for his own purposes, not to entertain. It is his expressed wish to do something more than porn, to give a story that instills feeling. Perhaps you are not comfortable with feeling anything other than what you feel looking at porn, but there are certainly many out there, myself included, that enjoy a story that does not necessarily end or even have much to do with a happily-ever-after. The spectrum of emotion capable in people is too broad to stick to simply one thing, and just because you do not happen to enjoy it for the fact that it does not contain smut is a personal issue, not an issue of the artist.
That being said, Kristein, I am afraid that you are likely wasting your time, just as I am now. I do believe this is the same person who has been giving Sal some modicum of grief over the nature of the comic. I fear that he is not comfortable with feeling much else than the most base of emotions, which does question his own emotional stability, but I would be very willing to see myself proven wrong. That being said, I hope this comic he best of luck, as I find it in poor taste that stories such as these are often unappreciated by this increasingly sensationalist culture we find ourselves living in.

Well said, sir. I realize that I may be preaching to the choir here, but I hate to remain silent when someone needs correcting. I do the same in public places when a mother refuses to rein in her unruly child whining over the fact that he can't have this cheap, useless toy that he'll lose in about a week. I tend to get a dirty look or a snappy phrase from the parent (in fact I'm only half-expecting one from this guy on topics completely unrelated to my post), but children need to know how to act in the face of others.
Sal, I also wish you the best of luck with this comic. I personally think you're doing a fantastic job with it, and am super excited to see more from you.

Me really likes the comic.. I really admire people who start up a comic and alway's feel like asking them for advices.. Me has a story is working out a tale for lik 7 years.. and want tto make a comic out of it.. but dunno where to start.. it is gonna be a very long one (more then 70 pages) and I'm afraid it would take to long and never finish it. or that the quality woudn't be as good. >.<...

For a long comic I'd suggest breaking it down into multiple story arcs. Even with a shorter comic like mine (almost 30 pages) there are several arcs to the story.
That basically means a small plot. Build up, tension, conflict, resolution. The first five pages have this.
I really do find it funny that I'm being lectured on my writing.
All A's in every English course I ever took and all A's on every essay I've written must obviously be a fluke.
