During winter time within the forest, a breed of raptor shows their feathers about the winter rich landscape, rather large and dow rich avian's known as "The Snowfluff Owl"
Despite their large form's the Snowfluff's diet is rather small, small mice and rodent animals easily filling their belly's for perhaps days at minimal meals of one or two at a time. They also seem to have no interest for other creatures that could perhaps sustain them longer.
Snowfluff Owls most known feature of course would be of the fact they only have one wing, the next being its highly flexible design as the Owls are able to wrap this one appendage about their shape several times over in one motion. This is for several reasons, firstly for warmth which they share between themselves, their offspring and their mates and on occasion another creature they have made friends of, in some tales they have saved the lives of humans, elves and even the amazon cats at times during winter storms. The next is for their mode of transportation, the Snowfluff owl does not fly, but roll about along the ground literally as "balls of feathers", they've shown great skill and speed when whirling about in this manner, the method of population for such is a mystery to this day
The Snowfluff owls are also known for another fact, they have no eyes whatsoever despite the designs upon their faces, they rely solely upon sound and vibrations to "see' about them, the crowns upon their heads acting as sonar organs for their senses.
In the image above, we see two of the race, the one upon the right is the female of the Snowfluff, whilst the left is its mate. Female Snowfluff owls are the stronger and more combat able of their breed, being protective of their kin and creatures they bond with to great force, whilst the males are rich with the more warm and comforting feathers, which they use to keep their mates and offspring warm. The male is is gifted with a slightly better "field of vision" then its mate, as it is the one that locates where they will make their den during the winter seasons.
