Part of Advanced Drawing this quarter is Graphic Novels, so I took it as an opportunity to work on a short story I wrote. I had intended to get it at least penciled, and have it all up by halloween, as the story is a macabre/horror story (or at least its intended to be) but obviously that didn't happen. Still up for debate with myself whether I should start posting it as soon as I finish it, or save it till next October.
Our first assignment was tracking shots. A Tracking shot, for any who don't know, is when several panels of the comic show the exact same scene, only broken up into parts. The character will move through each panel, showing them traversing the scene (for example, showing a building cut into several panels, and having the character walk down the street around the building.)
This page is (quite obviously) devoid of dialogue, and will be for some time. I'm posting it as a piece of artwork rather than a readable page, because it turned out far above my expectations. My example of a tracking shot is at the bottom of the page. I chose to not make the whole page devoted to the shot, as I know several others in the class did (which is by no means wrong, of course). I just preferred mine this way.
