I mentioned helping a friend create another character other than the collieI made earlier. The character my friend and I made is a gerenuk, a species of gazelle that also goes by Waller's Gazelle. We were trying to make a girl that would look as awkward as we could possably pull off from the African animal list. This is what we got. A gangly limbed, unusually long necked, small headed, large eyed prey species to counterpoint the male lion the charactrer had been born as.
If I draw the character I'll include a background on her.
The image here is of a male, but the character is supposed to have horns just to make her that much more awkward.
Drawn on vellum bristol board with #4h pencil and random #2. Random because I don't know if it's H or HB because all my leads spilled and got mixed while I was at SPX in September. Total suckage. :P

Only reason I can is because I got my head crammed with techniques. ^_^;
I sort of did a cram of a normal art school curriculum into a year and a half back in high school. It's weird to look at something and go, "Oh yeah... Forgot all about that." And build on it more than the book does. lol
Gonna be looking into working with tone sheets soon. That should be a fun refresher once I can afford it.
