The last full Beatrix story was "Old Habits", published by SFA in a one-shot called Valiant Varmints. The comic was a parody of those old superhero team titles, like Justice League of America. Each superhero had his or her own small adventure as an episode of the whole, and at the end they all teamed up to finish off the villain. The weakness of this approach is obvious -- each segment will likely be unable to stand on its own. I tried to write my piece so it was at least satisfying in itself, even if there was no real end to it. In some ways I was happy with it *because* nothing happened and yet I think it was interesting. There were several jokes in it I thought fairly original, starting with the first few panels. One review of Valiant Varmints singled out "Old Haibts" as *the* stand-out contribution to the book. The cover for Valiant Varmints can be found elsewhere in my gallery.

I *love* the Beatrix comics. Particularly the artwork and the characters. She was my first introduction to your artwork, and was great finally meeting you at various cons. I bought the Valiant Varmints mainly because it had her in it. :)
And it's nice to see you on the internet, and don't have to write ya' via super snail international mail! :)

Well she probably didn't get ran by anyone, and if she were it would have been more as an NPC if anything. You can check her out here though, or at least how I interpreted her from the limited amount of exposure she's gotten. Would love to see more of her someday since she's quite the nice character.

Her size and weight are anyone's guess, but I'd have to say Bea had less than "typical" fighting abillities. She has basically NO fighting abillities... Before the suit I doubt she'd ever punched anyone in her life. The colour of Bea's suit is said (by Steve) to be maroon, but that's so unattractive I've always coloured it a deep dark red, and just called it maroon. Funny you should mention senses, since that was going to be one of the issues in a future story. The suit by the way was its own force field, and didn't so much generate one, though that seemed to be more what Steve had in mind. Psychologically I think I would have added that Bea was not just "normal" but actually "unimaginative" and liked being a rather dull person. She is, as you noticed, a fairly strong personality though. All the same, the suit was a totally random gift, given for no reason at all, like most abillities.
Well I think I noted her height and weight were my best guesses, same with her age. So you feel she's more on the Poor side of fighting then (only one rank lower and she's not handicapped or physically impaired to qualify that low)? Well I tried to depict or extrapolate as much as I could about her and while it wouldn't be something most would think about Invulnerability would affect more than just being able to survive an H-bomb going up but attacks on one's senses as well. I wanted to do much justice to her as possible. As far as her getting the suit goes, well comic book characters, especially super-characters often end up finding out things weren't as random as they thought (like Kyle Rayner finding out he wasn't as random a choice as he thought for the last Green Lantern Power Ring, or the first choice), particularly if the writer decides it makes for a better story giving a reason to it instead of just luck.
Either way it was nice giving her a shot and introducing a few others to her and hopefully if they run across a few comics of her in a used comics sale or get the chance they'll pick her up and perhaps even hunt for material related to her.

Of course, you could only make a guess, and they were mostly good ones.
I guess Bea could throw a punch as well as you or I (unless you work out or take martial arts, that is). I only showed her try to fight once, in a story in the Vison Comics second issue. It didn't do much good, since her fist only slid off the bad guy's puss. Being frictionless works both ways. With an effort of will -- getting her shot in at exactly 90 degrees so it can't be deflected -- will work.
One of these days I really must do something with all the ideas I've saved up. I need to win a lottery in the worst way, or find some corrupt German business man to give *me* $300,000 just like he apparently gave one of our past prime ministers for illegal services. But money is only given to other people who have money, never to anyone who needs it.

Thanks, I did want to do her the best justice that I could.
I'm not sure how much a frictionless field would affect impact damage from striking someone, I mean you grease up your first and someone else and punch him and your not going to lose that much damage potential just because the friction potential is reduced. Marvel did have a villain with a frictionless coating body suit for his 'power' but I don't think he had much problems punching people (he did have fun skating on the material for enhanced speed though).
Sadly it does seem like the majority of people getting money either don't need it or don't deserve it, like the welfare breeders and cons. I know I'd be doing a lot better with money like that than they'd ever make use of it. Might even manage to get set-up and motivated enough to finish up my novels and publish.

I've seen such a shcemata for Bea before. The numbers are somewhat different for some attributes, much different for others. That leads me to think there are different scales used in gaming. It's a bit weird having something of yours as part of the virtual public domain like this.
Well, MSH was fairly straight-forward when it comes to accessing supers.
Bea is physically average (for a rabbit) except that gawd-like invulnerability of hers, hence her "Typical" physical stats.
Mentally, Bea has proven herself to be book-smart but not always people-wise, which is why she has Excellent Reason but otherwise typical mental stats.
Resources: any super that has to travel by a bus to go fight a villain is obviously Poor.
Talents: "Moving Day" story pretty much covers her English Lit degree.
Popularity: Well, 5 is the base starting for a hero ("Who was that masked maroon bunny?")
Powers: Class 1000 body armor and resistances pretty much covers the protection the aliens gave her and since she no longer needs to eat, sleep, breath, etc. hence the Life Support.

A correspondent sent me this. It shows what I mean by different measurements.

LapinoidOrigin of Super-human Powers: Bestowal of alien super-suit by abstract omnipotent alien entities.Appearance: Beatrix appears as a shapely anthropomorphic white rabbit in a pink shiny form-fitting costume that covers her from the neck down.
Sex: Female
Height: 5’ 8”
Weight: 131 lbs
Age: 20ish
Fighting: Typical (6)
Agility: Good (10)Strength: Typical (6)
Endurance: Remarkable (30)
Reason: Good (10)Intuition:
Good (10)
Psyche: Excellent (20)
Health: 52Karma: 40
Resources: TypicalPopularity: 0
POWERS True Invulnerability: Beatrix has been rendered impervious to all attacks, no matter the source, at CL3000 levels. This includes mental and magical attacks along with physical and energy attacks.Life Support: Due to the costume that has been bonded to her Beatrix no longer requires anything in order to survive, and possesses CL3000 protection from any and all environmental extremes, rendering her capable of surviving in the heart of a star or surviving a nuclear blast with ease. She also no longer requires sleep of any sort in order to refresh herself.Protected Senses (All): Because of her costume and frictionless force field all of Beatrix’s senses are shielded at CL3000 levels
LIMITATIONS Beatrix has no sense of touch, taste, or smell, as the force field generated by her costume completely insulates her from all sensation. While she can attempt to eat something she won’t enjoy any taste from the effort and it ends up just a frustrating waste of time. Presumably the only ones capable of overcoming or removing her powers/costume are the aliens that bestowed it upon her.
HISTORY Beatrix was a normal anthropomorphic rabbit until the day she was nearly killed during a drive by shooting she was unfortunate enough to end up being a part of. Drawing the attention of a group of omnipotent beings appearing to her as abstract entities they decided to do her a good turn by healing her and bonding a costume to her that protected her from all harm and restored her to her world. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite the delightful deal as it first sounds. While the suit did indeed protect her from all harm it also generated a frictionless force field that required a great deal of effort for her to even learn how to walk around and pick up objects without them jumping out of her grasp like a wet bar of soap being squeezed too hard. She also couldn’t turn it off, since as the aliens later commented to her complete protection wouldn’t be complete if it wasn’t on all the time, so she couldn’t enjoy food, the smell of a rose, or a favorite of many, sex.Being on the poor side and encouraged by her roommate to find work she ended up taking a job in the paper’s want ads for an agency hiring superbeings as temp work, with her first job after being evaluated to head to their equivalent of Chernobyl to deal with an alien that had taken up residence in the radioactive waste (seems it found it homey). To her surprise she found what she’d been sent to give to the alien was an eviction notice, which it complained about before taking its leave.Unfortunately not much more is currently known about her tales but given her having come to the notice of omnipotent aliens it’s almost a certainty she’ll end up drawing the attention of other oddball entities.
PERSONALITY Beatrix is a fairly well-adjusted and average female trapped in a really tough situation and trying the make the best of it. While she’s coping it’s likely she has at least some support from the aliens, if only perhaps by including invulnerability to mental breakdown in the package of invulnerabilities she has. Then again it’s just as likely she’s just that mentally strong and why she was picked for the ‘gift’ in the first place.

Reasonable set of stats but I think he over estimates her agility and intuition since she is a little on the clumsy side (the suit has a bit to do with it) and if her Intuition was better than Typical, she wouldn't be the emotional doormat that she is. I can possibly accept the higher Psyche since she IS doing remarkably well (mentally speaking) considering her current circumstances as he remarked in her Personality profile.
