Elva is a female hell hound living in the deep swamps in the America. She is in a business partnership with a shifty weasel named Remy Benoit. She brews magical potions while he sells them to people in the cities. Her potion's effects can vary, some do nothing, but most end in disappointment, such as working for a short time then quickly fade, or the can result in unexplainable mutations. Her business partner is the one in charge of selling her wicked brews, and he usually gets all the money from selling them. Elva has no desire or need for money, so her payment is fried foods, thus making her over weight. Not only does Elva make potions, she also dabs in black magic but her real talents are in Louisianan Voodoo.
Elva prefers solitude, she hates the sounds of cars, and the hustle bustle of many people. She doesn't really talk, even though she knows how to quite well, she actually knows several languages. The only person she talks to is Remy, and when she talks she sounds Cajun.
Elva and Remy live together in the swamp, not only are they business partners but they also have formed a strange relationship during the potion selling and her experimenting her magic on him.
