Bug Bubbles
This is a kitsune I got from 
that I never got around to making a proper image of :o
So last night I busted this out in my art practice. Looks so much better in person though. The gold bits shimmer and you can actually see the white critters in the bubbles.

This is beautiful :D I like the green / gold color scheme you chose and I can't stop eyeing up the textures within those two colors. It looks like both parts should shimmer, though you say only the gold does. Anyway, the bubbles with the critters (especially the caterpillar that looks similar to your character's tail) is a cute addition :)

The green does actually shimmer a bit! I sprayed a golden shimmer mist on it so the green ink would saturate a bit more.
For the background I used three types of inks, a green wash ink and forest distress inks on two different layers with my fabric stamper, then sprayed it with a clear golden shimmer that only shows up in person but makes it look even more gritty and made the wash ink stand out a bit more. Then I sprayed it with water and put small pieces of salt in various places. Then I added the golden alcohol ink border haha
Was a very experimental piece to see what would happen if I did x y and z :B

Oh wow :o That sounds like a lot. I never played with inks to that extent. Mainly just used them for black and white images (sumi ink and higgins magic.)
The result though is nice. I think if it was a little more even in tone it would be a great technique to use for coloring :) Though, I'm a sucker for texture XD
By the way, I have your aceo sketched up. I'm hoping to get it done before the week is over ^_^ I apologize for asking here, but for your character's eyes, are the usual "white" parts black? The main reference you gave makes it seem so, but now looking at your icon, it has me second guessing ^^; I just want to be sure!

I have so many inks that I've just been buying over the years, they really are great to work with if you have the patience. My scanner pretty much murdered this image though, the colors look so much better in person.
