The flatness of the foreground colors isn't necessarily a bad thing. Makes the whole thing look like a screen shot from an animated piece. This piece is also a perfect example of the lush, dream-like world and creatures your other works reflect...and is very refreshing. The vivid colors are wonderful as well. Excellent work!
so this is what Archaeopteryx would have looked like if he hadn't had feathers but scales. or in that case, rather a smooth skin.
this here has the overall feel of some franco-belgian comics where you sit down, soak in the lush illustrations, and ask yourself what kind of worcaholic spent his life on them.
I think I would pretty much enjoy some comic book with this kind of illustration style after all those computer-coloured stuff where a pair of jeans shines like polished rubber. here in germany the comic book scene is rich with traditional illustrations, and france and belgium deliver tons of stylish work for everybody's taste. but still I have a few favourites there, and most are made traditionally.
maybe I am too conservative?
