this is just a little test comic i collab'd with
on, we're gonna be doing a project together and i learned a few things about what I need to do on my end to make things clearer for him when he inks.
Just a convo we had between the two of us on skype. We both live in states that have high religious values, and it's something that constantly comes up in conversation with people i talk to on a random basis. Thankfully I don't hear it from my parents anymore, i think we have a mutual understanding.
Not trying to offend anyone, but if you do feel offended then that's your problem.

Seriously, just about the worst thing is where you're hanging with someone new, and they seem cool, fun, etc. and then suddenly, as if from nowhere, the proselytizing begins.
Then you realize that they only reason they're trying to be "cool" is to "win" you over to their faith or some bullshit.
Honestly, I grew up Roman Catholic and no one in my family does that crap... it's honestly the worst.

Difference would be that Christians are a dominant majority who very much influences social policy, while being openly atheist borders on being a despised minority in some states.
Or, as XKCD said, "the important thing is that you managed to feel superior to both of them"

Yes, but, in social interactions (which I was assuming was the scope of this) it tends to be more fair, especially since I tend to see a lot more actively open atheists on the internet.
Lol. I love XKCD, but if you're implying what I think you are, then honestly you can't put yourself above that for stating it.

Nice pen style. Really pops! Since this is a test page I won't try to completely dissect and critique in any large way, but just beware of long dialogue bits where the characters are simply talking avatars for the convo. You did have them smoking, and I liked the change of angle in panel 2 (as welll as the expressions :D) but it might have been cool to see Haz rolling the J in the first panel- just as something to entertain the eyes so to speak.
...and look at me I got pedantic anyways ANYHOW CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE PAGES :D

Before stepping on my own soap box, let me jus tsay that I really like the art style, got kind of a classic manga layout and greyscale thing going.
That being said, religion has for far too long been allowed to run rampant in the making of social policy, where it doesnt belong, and the whole thing is just a sandcastle built on centuries of misinterpretations, ill informed voters and poorly understood theology. You CANNOT try to apply the social standards of a bronze age society on modern culture, it just doesnt work. Religion doesnt belong in state matters, or social matters, and only has applications as personal moral guidance.

This is pretty good but try not to cram too much text into one area. Comics have to be a good balance of images and text and you don't want your pages to look cluttered. Try some page set ups that aid in the eye moving around the page from bubble. Sometimes that will involve stretching a 'simple' scene out longer. It the pages don't 'flow' then the human eye/mind is going to get confused, making reading difficult. People will get frustrated if they have to look back at panels to try and figure out what is going on. You want to keep their eyes moving from page to page so they stay immersed in the story :)
