Just took this on my way back from an errand.
This is LA HWY 2 West in Ouachita Parish going toward Sterlington.

When I saw the sunrise, I wasnt even on this highway, I was on US HWY 165 heading NE.
Here, I heading West; and it seems like that because it is a straight away and the land around it is flat farm land. When you get into Sterlington, there is a very high bridge that goes over the Ouachita River into Union Parish.
The reason for the height of the bridge is so cargo barges/ships can go under without having to draw the bridge up.
When you get into Union Parish, its not like this. It has hills and has forest everywhere.

hehehehe
yeah, but its starting to change a bit.
if you read the comments above, you see that Im describing the new bridge. They tore down and imploded the old draw bridge that was there 2 years ago. It was too narrow for big rigs and vehicles to cross and it would creak and pop when you crossed it. It was getting scary to cross.

True, that. Hehe. When I was out that way back in June I spent about half the time in each city. I was amazed at how much Shreveport had to offer; more good shows and things to do than even Denver(which is about three times larger). Loved the drive, though I think part of that was the car I was loaned for my vacation, hehe.
