however a friend of mine doctored it up and added sepia tone and special effects to "age" the photo.

There really isn't a whole lot done to the original photo. The boarder, the sepia tone, and the steam effect are that was really added. But yes, it all worked together quite nicely.

I didn't do the alterings, a friend of mine did and that was HIS title for the pic. I don't mind it, personally.

I have always loved sepia tone to "age" photos, and the date and place adds some really neat detail too. I plan to draw Woar in Steampunk, and old west style. hmmmm wild west steampunk???? MAYBE!!

Regretably I haven't been able to work on it. The past few weeks, months even, have been rather hectic. I've been working on starting a new career and in fact enruote to the train school as I type this! (Thank God for wifi on buses!) I'm not sure when I'll be able to work on it again, hopefully soon.
