well if you have a local wal-mart go and buy yourself one of them Sketch Diary from Academie and Mead the paper is of good quality and takes pencils and pens rather well and shouldn't run you more than 5 bucks . If not go to your local bookstore and buy a sketch book, I don't recommend a hard bound sketch book, they are very hard to open and carry at times, unless they are wire bound. If blank paper is what you want I suggest buying copy paper, it's ok for doodles and stuff, but full artwork I wouldn't really recommend it
