Semi-obscure video game reference. In HeXen: Beyond Heretic, your weapons draw off two kinds of mana, blue mana and green mana. The Mage's green mana weapon is a spell that sends a lightning bolt screaming across the landscape, and it hovers over anything it hits for about three seconds. It can also go over walls and up cliffs with impunity. Pretty devastating, and is the only weapon in the game that can ignore a Centaur/Slaughtaur's shields.
