The Big Date: Shower Musings
&&&
Blushing so hard it was a wonder steam didn’t come off him, René hastily covered himself with his hands as he lay prone on the floor. He tried to think of something, ANYTHING, to break the awkward silence was a high-pitched, “Eeeeeep!”
Nicole smirked and then tried to cover it with her hand. Poor boy. He tried so hard…but he kept ending up in these embarrassing situations! “Poor René.” She giggled to herself, an unusual thing for her. But deciding not to add any further humiliation, Nicole stepped over him and into a shower stall.
After she shucked off her clothing and turned on the hot water she heard René scramble to his feet and dash off to put on some pants. She shook her head. Nicole surprised herself by inviting René to her home… “Home? Face it when have you ever thought about a boy as anything but a punching bag?” She murmured to herself as she stared into the shower nozzle; surprised at her own realization that she thought that the scrawny little (confused) vulpix boy was—dare she even think it?—all right: cute.
She almost chickened out during their match, when she kissed him and shoved the note down his shirt. For some reason, she found that to be even more challenging that physically beating someone up.
Nicole leaned her head against the tiled wall. “Okay, okay…relax Nicole. It’s no big deal. Well, okay maybe it is. So I like him. I already told him, well, wrote it to him. Anyway I shouldn’t still have butterfree in my stomach…or in my head. Ooohh, why won’t this stop? What the frick am I supposed to do here?” Nicole punched at the wall. She had no idea what she was doing.
“I should probably just talk to him…” She shook her head. “I haven’t really talked to the guy much…just beat him up, kissed him into submition, and gave him a note. I should see what he thinks. I should also just see how well he fares during dinner. I should, I should…” She looked pained. “I should NOT have left him alone with my family! Oh my god …” Nicole moaned as she dreaded what embarrassing things they’ll be talking about and him showing behind her back: Baby pictures? Her diary? Mr. Tony? Oh please don’t let them tell any embarrassing stories…
Nicole shut off the shower and flung the shower door open, half a mind to storm up there and keep René from her family’s big mouth. She was halfway up the steps when she belatedly realized that she hadn’t gotten dressed yet or even bothered to put on a towel.
She ran back down the stairs, almost slipping on the steps from the water still dripping from her body, and made for the locker room hoping to stop her family before it was too late from humiliating her in front of René.
