Seeing the username starman_deluxe reminded me of this picture I drew about two months ago. You will get 3 guesses to who it is... but you only need two.

I know how it sounds... but if you look into it further, you would see a few things.
- The original Pokémon production staff included many former members of [this game]
- Pokémon creator Satoshi Tajiri has acknowledged the influence of [this game] in interviews
- If you played the game, you would realize that the original Pokemon was basically the spiritual successor, the only difference being the fact that you collect monsters.
- If you are familiar with this particular character, you will see the similarities between it and Mewtwo.

Ahh, I have mixed feelings on people's responses- I'm kind of sad that some people got it before me, And even sadder that some people STILL don't get it... However, I am certainly happy that someone else saw the Mewtwo-Giygas connection other than me. Very nice!
Giygas has been one of my favorite characters for a long time... Although few have actually even bothered playing Mother 1... (Earthbound zero, as it were.) I always thought it interesting how Giygas, for all his evil omnipotence, was a surprisingly sympathetic character- he just wanted his Mommy, is all, but people made him go to war instead... Which is possibly what caused him to turn evil in the first place... (Then that bastard Pokey went and destroyed what was left of him by turning his life support off... Good job, Piggy!)
On a semi-related note... I would have drawn him less... angular, and more slender and flowing, and probably younger looking... I always imagined him as, actually, a small child. (Like, 6 or 7 in earthling years...) But that's a discussion for a different day.

According to Mother 1... George and Maria where abducted in the early 1900s Giegue being born almost immediately after... making him roughly 80 years old when we first see him. Although much of his story revolves around him as a child, we meet him after he becomes leader of his people and invades Earth.
I am not even drawing him at this point though. At some point 20 years after Mother 1, (10 years after Earthbound/ Mother 2 takes place) he was forced into his own magicant (lets just say it's his own mind, to those who don't know) and was somehow banished to the beginning of time. At some point early on in this second timeline.. in order to free himself from his magicant... he used his incredible power to shed his mind and body to become the being we are most familiar with. I am portraying this act.

I never played the first, so I would never had guessed it was Giygas. or rather Giegue in this case.

How, you still get comments on the Giygas pic? X3 This is really awesome though =3 I bet it must have been frustraiting to see all the "must be Mewtwo" comments =P Not too many people know of the game (and it didn't help Creatures was Ape (or, something, I can't remember) back then, so, yay for similar character design).
A powerful enemy transending different eras of the Mother universe... I can't help but feel sorry for 'im though. (I thought I read somewhere there was a point where Giygas shows up in Mother 3 and possessed someone, or, that was in there but taken out or something...)

Thing is, was there ever official concept art of Guigue? I can see the simillarities between him and Mewtwo, but I didn't think they would look exactly alike as you've portrayed him here. Right down to the little characteristic necktube that Metwtwo has.
