How can you tell when someone is too obsessed with a role-playing game? Is it when they create artworks for the game? Because that's what I just did. In the exclusive role-playing game CoMIX,
Mizuhiro_Neko and I find ourselves in command of our own fleet. We have spent weeks trying to name our fleet. We wanted to come up with a name that would say that we value the diversity of the various alien species within our fleet, and that we find strength in that diversity performing as one unit. Last weekend, I came up with the name Spectrum Coalition. I had also been meaning to come up with a seal that could used to identify our crew-members, ships and other units. After this weekend, I came up with an idea of what that seal should look like.
Here is the first draft.
In the center is the image of a Cheetah's paw and the name of our flag I-Series, Shelter (An I-Series is an extremely large, four-legged and/or winged, sentient, and intelligent creatures that serves as a ship. I-Series just don't like being referred to as ships). As part of an individual's uniform, the Paw, claw or wing at the center of the seal, along with a given name, is to identify which ship or I-Series they serve on. That thing across the top is supposed to be a comet. It still needs more work before it looks right. I also have to figure out how to make white stars against a black background. ^!^

I agree, except that I don't think I'd ever produce a replica of an actual uniform from CoMIX, simply because too few people would recognize the uniform; especially the patch. I roleplay with only one other player and our Game Master.
What I would really like is to wear the uniform that my Second Life avatar wears every time I roleplay Star Trek with United Federation Starfleet. More people would recognize that. Plus I'd get to show of the UFS LGBT patch that my avatar wears on her right shoulder; which was part of the inspiration for creating this patch. ^!^

I'd be happy to tell you tails from the lines that we have played, but I'm afraid I can't help you get involved. It's a very exclusive and pretty underground role-playing system. And I'm afraid our Game Master already has his paws full with the number of players that he has already taken on.
