Introducing Dzjatsi.
Malicious, sinister and sadistic, a black-heart in every way. Her suave looks and sex-appeal are merely a disturbing contradiction. No one really knows why she's like that, and no one dares to ask. Her prime goals: dominance and power, and she'll do anything to have just that. Feared and respected within her orginization, she's one of Aerdia's most wanted, but because of her keen ability to remain hidden and anonimous all the time, she's been very hard to spot. A master blade dancer and dead-shot, consider yourself a walking dead if she has her mark on you. Not much is known about her other than a few traits of her character, she was believed to be dead years ago after the bust of the orginization, little did the council and authorities know that they were still around, deep in the underground world of Aerdia.

I love her markings. The only critique I have is that her left arm (her left, not our left) looks a little short. I know she's leaning on it, but I think if you either put her elbow into the shot and moved her hand upwards towards the top of the frame, or lifted her body more, it wouldn't look so... off.
Thank you! I'm glad you like it, I've taken your critique in mind, and well I've been looking, but download the pic and draw the arm with a red brush. You'll notice it fits. :] Just follow the shoulder and connect.
Someone also said the -hand- itself looks off. Hm, not sure though, I wish more people would comment...

Thank you so much!
As to answer the question, hehe. It's fun how many people, almost all of them, have all these things for anthro characters without a proper explenation. I find my concept of an anthro world credible, original and at least explainable, tails are found impractical for military people so they're either removed and trained to cope with it, or if it's short enough, tucked in a cloth or cocoon like contraption.
Tattoos, hehe, it's a process which involves coating the fur with a particular pattern with a special kind of permanent dye, and a blend of ink/chemical tattoo'd into the skin underneath to follow the same pattern whenever it needs to regrow.

So for tails its like a hair net in the food industry.
Its a combination of tattoo and hair dye thing then. I guess if we had fur, that would have been figured out like tattoos were.
Who knows why people don't do that. Maybe they go by one of the main distinctions between fantasy literature and sci-fi, which is that in sci-fi you have to explain everything and in fantasy its magic or whatever. Since antho can fit in either category, (or ignore both and go to traditional fiction just with tails and fur) people may ignore explaining it or just forget.
That or I'm overestimating by and large the artists here. :p

Hey man, no problem.
I dunno, I'd like to write, but I can only get about two pages in and I lose interest. That and what I'd like to write is sci-fi, but I read by far fantasy more, so I'm not as knowledgeable on how to write it. Oh well.
I'd like to see what you've got, I'm in between books right now.
