In Wolves of Danu, Banshees are the desecrated corpses of female Druids who’ve been devoured and made immortal by the magic starved Sidhe (faeries). Their very essence is leeched from their bones and they rise as hollow, deformed, and rotting shells. They’ll spend the rest of their existence haunting the loved ones they’d have otherwise left behind. They howl and cry only about the things they most cared about in life.
