Excuse my total geek moment, but monks are very prominent in most of the FF, not just from Tactics or III.

They were in I, III, IV (Yang), V, VI (Sabin), VII (Tifa), VIII (Zell), IX (Amarant), and they're definitely in the MMORPGs, XI and XIV.
