This is a lovely picture from Lhune of an electric eel anthro. He's a friendly sort who might just give you a playful buzz.
Electric eels generate a DC charge from thousands of small electrical cells (Electrocytes) that are stacked in rows along both sides of their lengthy body. Each cell generates .15 V. They are connected to the pacemaker nucleus which controls and fires them. Each adult (real) electric eel can generate 500 or more volts at 1 amp (500 watts) which is enough to kill an adult human if it goes the right way. The interesting thing is that their power is not a single shock (though it looks and feels that way), but a series of 150-300 impulses in a single strike. I imagine that an anthro one would have... many side uses of that ability beside stunning pray.
