Opened in the 1980's. Bowling Alley closed in 2011. Restaurant closed early 2012
I've been stopping by occasionally to take pictures of this place. I've bowled here before, and used to get milkshakes and burgers at the attached restaurant occasionally. In between was also a small bar. Places like this make me want to do a whole series on vanishing America. Its not Cheesecake Factory or Macaroni Grill or Panera Bread that's disappearing. It's classic Americana like Post House or Charcoal Pit, or the former Corner Diner in Newark. Places once ubiquitous in the United States, but places which have become as rare as they are iconic.
Since 2008 a half dozen local recreational businesses have closed. We've lost a golf course, dinner theater, swimming pool, tennis club, bowling alley. All within walking distance of eachother. The local shopping center lost a couple businesses which had been around for years, including a large real estate office.

I really don't want to vote either, but if it comes down to it... I'm gonna vote the cultist... He knows what he's doing, has a good track record, and actually cites things that aren't just newspapers and insurance companies. I still don't want to vote for him because I'd still feel guilty about it.
The homes and businesses of our colonial fathers are gone, the homes and businesses that were built and flourished after WWII are going away, and … in time, what we knew and thought would last forever when we were kids will fall out of usage, close up, begin to fade, and be torn down for something new and “useful”.
Time marches on, changes continually are made, and what is becomes what was.

True, yeah. Our economy had just started going downhill in the early 1990's when I was growing up. The peak of the average wage was in the 1980's and they have pretty much stagnated since. That was also the height of places like this, bowling alleys, sports centers, arcades. I stopped going to our local actually mall when they got rid of all the interesting stores and the little 3 theater movie theater and the arcade that'd been there since the 80's.
