A while ago, somebody accused me of being a second rate ham who rested on the laurels of ripping off Jay Ward years ago. Guilty, except maybe the second rate part...
For the hell of it, I decided I'd post a lot of my old Rocky drawings. What started all this was a booklet I published back in the late 80's. It was purported to be an interview with Rocky the Flying Squirrel, in which she revealed her life, her action in the South Pacific during WWII, how she got into show business, and private information about many of her friends. Naturally it was fully illustrated. If interested, I still have a small number availabe for five bucks, including postage.
In many ways, this is my favourite of all the Rocky sketches I made. Most exploited her military years, but this one was entirely gentle and wistful feeling. The little girl is looling up at Rocky in wonderment and also a bit of fear. The flying squirrel is a dream, any dream... Dare she aspire to fly?

Whee, Rocky! I love these pics, and there's a bunch here I haven't seen before. I'd heard about your interview piece, but I didn't get into furrydom until late '92, and it was probably '94 or '95 (Possibly '96) before I'd heard of it (I actually believe it was around the time I got the color reprint of Beatrix #1, which according to my sources in other windows was '97). The point is at that point I didn't have the resources or contacts or anything to look into it.
So, you have a few copies? If this is still true, I'd love to take one off your hands!
(Apparently I'm in a rambly mood today)
