A cartoon map of my homeland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! I know I've done a map of Scotland before, but that was a few years ago now and I thought I could do better. So I did ^^.
The UK consists of four constituent countries - England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Britain is the largest island in Europe, we have some lovely countryside and usually some awful weather to go with it! I also wanted to illustrate a map covering the whole country to show that there is more to this land than just London. ^^

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped.....i_Junction.jpg The UK Spaghetti Junction is the informal nickname for Gravelly Hill Interchange in Birmingham. It was opened in 1972 ^^.
There is also a Spaghetti Junction in Louisville, Kentucky.

The highway splits and re-merges in weird ways there. As I understand it's due to an railroad bridge, and the highway had to split apart like that to go around the bridge columns. The railroad is gone now, but the horror remains.

I never, ever get tired of these geographical marvels you draw, Keeny. Just superb. Thanks for including The Shard in London, though I'm unsure that a lot of people have reconised it as a national landmark just yet, but it's certanly making an impression with us Londoners and I'm only a short bus ride away from it, seriously it's built right next door to where yours truly was born.
What!?!?!? You left out Watership Down??? And the importance of the Lake District and Coniston (Plague Dogs)??!?! Well, maybe you're not a Richard Adams fan
Lots of stuff to look at here. Nice details. Seems everyone has their own Spaghetti Junction. The beaver looks... nervous

For Snowdon, I'm surprised you didn't include a picture of the Mountain Railway they have there. Would've gone well with the mountain.
Oh, and another good addition would've been Land's End on Southwest England and the Lighthouse off the coast there.
Still, a great map of the UK! I really want to go there and spend a month (or more!) looking around the place.

I can honestly and wholeheartedly agree with that statement. When I was riding back to London from Confuzzled with my then-fiancee a couple years ago, she decided to take us through the country to get back to the M1. It was some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen...I'd love to come back and visit again soon!

So, your going to throw yourself out of Scotland then re-invade?
Seriously, I was watching a BBC show (Time Team) and they were at Edinburgh Castle talking to one of the tour ladies, something she said still gives me the giggles. Paraphrasing;
"We couldn't keep the bloody English out until we started charging one and six to see the Castle, now they stay away in droves."

While in grad school in the US, I spent a half semester in Birmingham doing some research, and took a trip to London. Actual 2 since my flight home suddenly ceased to exist due to mechanical issues with the airplane, so BA arranged a bus to Heathrow and free airfare on another flight.
