Well I've never fooled with ferrets much, but racoons are EXTREMELY curious and Superbly Intelligent. PLUS, they have hands almost identical in function to human hands. They cannot resist poking into nooks and crannies and the LOVE...SHINIES! So a pet racoon will tear EVERYTHING off your shelves tables, bookcases, etc. They will also take anything Shiny they find from aluminum foil to a diamond necklace. One must prepare carefully for having a pet Racoon. Racoons are my family's totemic animals. I have a tattoo on my right shoulder of six stylized racoon faces, cheek-to-cheek, in a circle, with their ears facing out wards, forming a 12 pointed star. There is a picture of it in my gallery. I also have a racoon penis bone from a road-kill male racoon. I used to wear it as an earring until I got my ears gauged!

yeah thats why im iffy about a pet raccoon just because i heard theyre destructive and i dont know if its legal here or any breeders are near by. i dont think id get one unless i own my home and build on an extension for them. they are my fav animal tho. im totally thinking about a getting raccoon tat also! thats just awesome! Haha my dad has a raccoon penis too from some roadkill. we hand it to people here and make them guess what it is and then laugh when the throw it in disgust XD
