This is my submission for this story competition. It is just barely over the word limit at 1,102 words. (That's not including the title and byline)
I put a bunch of shout-outs in this, mainly because I wanted to see if I could do so in a legitimate story without detracting from plot. The shout outs are:

hehe, I didn't read yours yet, 'cause I didn't want to be biased, so I can't say as for content...but I believe ElectroCat said as long as its not 2k words, your entry won't be disqualified. I'm pretty sure the judging will be based more on content than anything else, so you have as good a chance as i do to win.
