i feel my art is kinda... low priced, for the quality? i like where my prices are at now and i don't think i should go too much higher, i mean i shit out drawings like i ate a million pencil laxatives <- *******EDUCATED****** RESPONSES TO THIS WOULD BE NICE :))))
lol if i posted this in DA a million twelve year olds would tell me my art is too expensive and not worth the money "no offence" sideways slash face ://///////// plus a lot more typos since 12s these days don't know how to spell

A friend once told me this regarding selling anything artistic: "Take what you THINK it's worth, multiply it by 3 or 4, and you'll have what most people would pay for your bad pieces."
I don't know if he was right, but looking at the art quality in your pic, I'd say $100-$150 is getting off easy for us ;)

I think they're priced reasonably... maybe a little low bat that makes it a good deal for people so that you can get more commissions. If I take commissions I always try to price things lower than I feel it SHOULD be. Just to ensure customer service I suppose.
but yeah, your quality of art is just bffffffdjsakfhksdgb. and when I see people on DA saying it's priced too high I kinda wanna kick them >.>;
>:U
your art is fab and you put so much effort into it, you deserve to get paid well. I think that's the thing people don't think about is like... how much EFFORT we put into art when we artists are drawing commissions.

I'd say your art is definitely /worth/ more. If you look at it right now, your commission slots are being snapped up really quickly, a rise in prices would probably just cause that take up time to get a little longer. You would probably still fill up all the slots easily! You might have a problem where less people can afford it, though. I mean, I have a pretty loose budget when it comes to art but right now yours is on the price range where if it were any more, I just wouldn't buy it - even if is super-lovely, and it is.
Well, I see your commission slots disappearing pretty damn quickly, you know yourself exactly how fast they go. Thank that into consideration :P
You could probably raise your prices by $5-15 with little effect though, particularly on the 'Detailed [X]' ranges.

They are fair to the commissioner (I mean...paying over US$100 for art can seem unfair for people), but slightly unfair for you.
Maybe...rise it up a bit, so you don't feel its too low and you get a slightly better income?
Sad that they are canadian, though...I really don't know the difference. :S
Someone explain...pls? :(

I'm always scare on how to price my crap, I once was doing stuff for 5 usd and someone attacked me saying it was too expensive?!??!?! and ever since I just don't know what to do, I think I'm over pricing my stuff now and low pricing it at the same time? considering it doesn't look that great yet I just put a lot of work into it? idk
I think your prices are quite fair for the quality they have not to mention the effort you must put in them

aaaa NOT CRAP i know its fun to bash yourself so you can improve yourself but others would not regard your art as crap! i dont see it as crap, and as for pricing your stuff you should consider how much your effort is worth and how much an hour would cost for yourself! it's really just business, offer your work at low prices and make your way up as demand increases.
also THAT BUTT that said your art was too expensive at 5$... is A BUTT. don't listen to butts. they fart ok n thats gross. It's your art NO ONE ELSES k you make the choices, not butts. butts make bad decisions. your art is worth so much more than what you're asking for it! if you put hard work and love into something it will always look amazing and that really shows in your art!
and thank you @ fair prices, i'm glad to know my art ain't ridic price

Honestly, seeing how popular you are, and the quality of your art, I'd say these prices are fair, if not a bit low comprared to a lot of other artists I have seen on here.
I'm glad you don't have such redicolous prices, because then even I can afford a commission by you without too much of a hazzle when it comes to my overall economy... but that will be after the day I figure out what my character is going to be.
Keep up the good work!

I think your prices are very fair. They are on the higher end of what I can afford so I think any higher and its only the really rich furrys that will be able to afford them.
When doing price vs work your making a good living from them and at the same time people are getting a fair deal.
I would like to thank you for not having extreme prices as you are still accessable to most budgets ^^

Economically, it's not just about what the quality of the art is, but also about what the target audience can afford, and, of course, what the opportunity cost in choosing you versus the competition. The problem is that $150 is cost prohibitive enough to most people who could get two commissions that are fairly high quality from known sources, and a lot of people have more than one scene or character they'd like to see rendered. Given, further, that the community is not all comprised of fairly wealthy people, it locks out a lot of people from getting art at all when the lowest of the low starts at $40.
I think (and this is just from observing the community and pricing over the past few years) that $100 might be the sweet spot to stop at, with special projects always available on demand, and $20 might be a good place to start at, even if it's for something as simple as a sketch. It's just a thought on what I think may be the optimal numbers for a profit line — I also don't know what your personal time per type of piece is, which should also factor in.

I think the prices are fine like that.
I saw many peolpe said they should be higher, but I think it's allready much money.
It's probably different from country to country, but for example, in my case, 50€ are MUCH...
And being popular is no argument, since I saw some bad popular artists and also some very talented unknown artists xD"
Don't get it wrong, I think you're a great artist and your commissions are clean and from high quality.
I just don't like how people say "make it moooaaar"..it's like they can poop money º¬º
Maybe I can comish you if I earn more money, if this prices will stay :3

your prices are not low-priced for the quality, they're somewhat fair-priced, especially to those who are able to afford them, but not-so much to those who want to buy your art but can't
though like what Icomeanon and kagay said, they're only pricy because we live in a time where people are short on money and don't really have much money to spare on artwork while they have bills to pay
I think if your prices do go higher then it would be a bit over-priced, despite what people say
and one thing i would always suggest is yo always do something that a lot of people can afford like sketched or inked commissions that people can afford.
i also think your prices should be priced by how much effort, time and detail you put into them as well.. that would be a whole lot fairer

actually depends on the artist. some are crap designers and they ask for way to much on their adopts
you just have to find the good ones ;)
and btw, DA has changed the point system LOL
100 points is a dollar now if you want to exchanges points for cash
I think its a load of bull

its crazy
to tell the truth I saw commission prices go up after that. not that I can blame people, I would do it to if people got mine XD
and then after that people just stopped taking point commissions to :I
its a bummer for us 15 years olds. to old to be jerks and to young to have a paypal *sigh*
thank the lord I know people who take snail mail commissions

Well, to be honest art is worth as much as you can to promote it. In many cases prices depends not only of what style you have, but also on how much you're popular. You have honeyed style and you're fucking wildly popular, so you can take even $250 for feral form and you'll always have principals. The question is where is YOUR barrier, right?
I think my art is priced pretty low for what I draw as well. But if people are willing to pay that amount for your art, then you know it's worth that in value to them. As long as you stay committed to keeping the qaulity of your art where you know it is then your pirces are good.
Well I think the prices are fine :U
Your art is beautiful and I bet it takes days to finish one of your bigger picture :O
Even your quick sketches look like master pieces :O
And a lot of people here agree and understand your prices so, the prices are fair :')
I really had problems with my prices too
I thought they were to high, but now I kinda think they're to low
Taking 20 points for a full colored chibi kinda hurts :I
It takes me hours to finish them and gain like... nothing :|
And well no one buys commissions from me anyway |'D

so... could i charge 70 bucks for my art because "its my art my rules"? >.>
for you i would use price as a form of pacing yourself, if you dont want a lot of commissions, go ahead and raise it. if you lower it, you'll get more business obviously.
id love to commission you personally but giving you such a large chunk of paycheck for digital art hurts my feels.

hi are you still open for detailed painting commission? if so how much would it be for a fullbody painting of my two characters Lila and Nero http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.co.....-l-y-255416280 http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.com/gallery/2692316#/d3i8lec http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.co.....92316#/d379wiv http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.com/gallery/2692316#/d379ye8 http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.co.....lery/#/d4xdw4v http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4l3u0z http://aliethekitsune.deviantart.co.....lery/#/d52jq2u
Some people who can't afford it say go lower so they have a chance, but that you wouldn't suffer over all money wise if you went higher because you still have a good pool of commissioners that can still afford it.
What people are forgetting though, is that these prices are low when you're thinking of graphic art as a career. When businesses pay you to make art, there is usually a higher price involved, as well as you get royalties from the money they earn off of the image you made.
After everything, these prices aren't bad at all for people here on Furaffinity. Once you get commissioners in your physical career life, that's when it really is too low. It really depends on what you and the market has to offer.
