I hate to think that my mind gets rather creative when it is pissed. Technology has never been my forte, so the gun seems rather lame compared to the figure.
And sorry for those who decided to drop me after my little rant. Your loss, I guess.

The gun looks allright. THough with the size, it looks more like that butt should be held either in the crook of the arm, or up into the shoulder itself... kinda hard to tell really ^^;; Maybe if it's suppose to be a one hander, try making it a bit smaller? Just a bit of advice. The figure itself though is magnificant. Awsome.
That rectus abdominus down there is a nice touch. *laughs* I love males drawn with that flared funnel appearance, and not that plain cylindrical look. A wide, muscular torso has much more of an appeal; at least, to me it does.
The way you do your clothing is always something to google over. Somewhat scarce, and yet, ornate all at once.
Lol, something tells me he could kick ass with that staff, and that he wouldn't even need the gun. I'd like to see him use that thing. Staff warriors are the coolest one. It's why I favored Donatello (I know I spelled that wrong) from the turtles, aside from his intelligence.
Yeah, I like it. Haha.

Some comments about the gun:
You need more practice drawing them, but you already know that.
From the size of the gun relative to him, it comes across as a weapon that was not made for him. It looks more like he picked it up off the battlefield. If we assume that it is the size of a carbine or rifle, a gun specifically for him would fall into the range of light support weapons, (say on the scale of the M-60), if the gun depicted is SMG scaled, then he would be much better off with either a large rifle, or a light carbine that he holds like a SMG.
For designing guns, even for way-out-there SF, it is well worth your while to look at a whole bunch of real-world guns. There is a good reason that there have been very few changes in the basic design of firearms for centuries, (a musketeer from the early 17th century would have little trouble recognizing a modern rifle as the descendant of what he used).
