Just a few meters away from the Iceland glacier in the South, and we have no idea what that lonely soul is doing. Contemplating life, man. Crazy stuff.
*Taken by me somewhere around Vik, Iceland. That trip was hella cray.

Did you take the path up to the ridge above the campgrounds to see the puffins flying? Or how about the house half crushed under the old lava flow?
Loved the place, ferry wasn't something we did though. If you're ever in the country again, I recommend getting up to Thorsmark near Hvolsvollur. Really nice area for walking, and you can go right over the glacier and down to Skogar over that long to pronounce volcano that exploded a few years back.

I saw both of those! I felt super eerie when I saw that house. It's amazing that island has continued to thrive after such a tragedy!
Thorsmark sounds super familiar; I'll definitely have to check that out when I go back next summer!
Did you get a chance to check out Laugavagur? That place was super cool too!

I can't remember Laugavagur. The only thing I can find on google is a street in Reykjavik. I know I wandered around town and went up the cathedral, but I can't remember the town much.
As for Heimaey, it was a pretty big event but not much of a tragedy. It did the place good. Nobody died during the eruption, apart from I think it was one looter who returned to the island. The lava going in to the harbour made it one of the safest harbours in the country, and it added about a third to the islands landmass. They did pretty well out of it.
Is Iceland a regular thing for you then?

Ahhh, my mistake! Laugavagur is the street in Reykjavik - that's my bad. I was referring to the canyon Fjadrargljufur; I just posted a pic of it here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9084370/. Sorry for that confusion!
I go over to Iceland for the music scene. I performed a little thing at the LungA festival in Seydisfjordur back in July, so I'll be going back for that! How about you? Heimaey is definitely not on the radar for most peeps!

Yeah, I've been meaning to go back foryears now, but never been able to afford it. At one point I wanted to take a landrover and drive around out there, camping. But they cancelled the ferry service from the UK, so to get to Iceland from here, I'd have to drive through England, on to the continent, across to Denmark, across the sea there, and all the way up through Norway to Bergen just to get the ferry to Iceland. Something like 2500miles just to get there.
