BlueWolfCheetah :"Something I've been working on while working on commissions.
I had this guy soaking during the same period I had my wild boar. This is only the second time I've cleaned a skull. And its much more tedious then I originally thought. There's a science to it, really.
This possum was nature cleaned, found nestled in the dirt inside a barn. So he wasn't going to come as white as I would like him to, given the fact that he was exposed to the elements, and minerals in the soil. I managed to get all the grease but one tiny spot where his mandible meets with the upper head at the joint/pivot point.
And stranger still, this guy didn't bubble much if at all in the peroxide, unlike my boar. The peroxide was nearly completely clear when the possum was finished soaking. very little, if any, clouding went on.
This possum died of natural causes, and I had no part in it's death. All my skulls are treated with the utmost respect to the animals, and are very much cherished. Please keep your negative comments to yourself."
