Closeup of Larval stage of some kind of Scarab beetle (Scarabaeidae).
Found it in the soil so probably some root eating type.

June beetles.... boring? apparently you and I have many different vies -_^
june beetles are some of the biggest up here xD (canadian ^^;;)
Sadly most of my favorite insects can't even be found up here lol
also, june beetles are surprisingly good used in stir fry... though i suppose it would be somewhat morbid to raise the thing as a pet then eat it =P

Maybe boring isn't the right word.
They're just so common here, that I guess you just get used to them. I get hundreds of them here during the May/June months.
My friend has tried convincing me to move to Canada, but I'm afraid there won't be enough bugs up there to keep me occupied. :P
